About Us
Family Auto Repair was founded by James and Floyd Henry in 1978. In their earlier years, they spent days watching their father repair cars at a service station in Sand Springs while they pumped the gas. It was during this time that James and Floyd learned the value of every automobile, and learned how the right care and knowledge could extend the life and performance of any car or truck.
When James graduated from OSU with a business degree, he went to work as a manager for Firestone serving in several stores throughout the southwest. He became an Area Manager and District Manager while Floyd completed his degree in Accounting at TU. Floyd worked for three years as an accountant before James approached him about opening a business of their own. Utilizing the Firestone name, and James experience with them, they opened an independantly owned and operated Firestone dealership at the current location in Broken Arrow, OK. Although Floyd and James continued learning the most advanced techniques in auto repair, they never forgot the lessons learned from their father all those years ago. Their father used to repair and restore cars for friends and neighbors; asking for little compensation in return. They never forgot the gratitude of those their father helped. They never forgot the warm feeling they felt every time their father would deliver a restored vehicle to someone who couldn't afford a new one. James and Floyd were determined to honor their father by opening a business that would truly offer value to the community. They promised to always provide value and outstanding service, regardless of how large the business grew.
The Henry brothers nephew, Scott Roberts began working in the shop in the early 1980's and took over management of the operation in the late 1990's. He is now the sole owner and manager of the shop. Scott's mother, Brenda Roberts, has handled the duties of Office Manager since 1995.
